Carolyn Spector

Chair, Board Of Trustees

Chief Executive Officer, Spector Philanthropic Advisors

Carolyn is the CEO of Spector Philanthropic Advisors. She is a dynamic and accomplished executive with a proven record of identifying opportunities and initiating and implementing projects that propel organizations to the next level of success. She specializes in establishing an organizational vision, developing innovative programs and securing resources to ensure achievement of long-term and short-term objectives. She is a skilled manager who focuses on hiring the best people, collaborating effectively with external stakeholders and inspiring success organization-wide.

Most recently, Carolyn served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Juhi Ash Center. Located on Fifth Avenue and 61st Street, the Juhi Ash Center combines the best of both worlds to offer an integrative approach to both Eastern and Western medicine. The Center delivers patients a new model of healthcare that is both integrated and personalized and treats the root causes of the problems, not the overt symptoms. The Center uses natural, effective, less-invasive procedures whenever possible and focuses on the promotion of health and the prevention of illness as in addition to the treatment of disease.

Carolyn has also served as the Executive Director of numerous Not for Profit organizations in New York City whose missions are to provide life-saving and life-altering surgery to children in need both domestically and internationally. She has focused on working with patients with craniofacial conditions for the last five years. Most recently she served as Executive Director of NextGenFace where she led the daily operations of the Foundation including managing fundraising strategies, corporate/private donor relations, marketing and PR campaigns, events and financial operations. She supervised all staff and served as the main point of contact with the Board of Directors.

Carolyn also served as Deputy Director of the Criminal Justice Division of Safe Horizon, the nation’s largest provider of services to victims of crime, where she was responsible for the daily operation of more than thirty crime victim programs located throughout the five boroughs.

Prior to moving to New York City, Carolyn held the position of Assistant Dis to trict Attorney in the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was also a Visiting Professor at Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Criminal Justice.

Carolyn has her Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law, a Masters in Science degree from Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Criminal Justice, as well as an LL.M.in criminal law and constitutional law from New York University Law School.

Carolyn is honored to chair the Grace Children’s Foundation’s (GCF) Board of Directors and to be working with an extraordinary team as GCF evolves from its manual network to a digital platform. She witnessed first hand for many years how difficult it is to get children the care that they desperately need. There are so many wonderful physicians at incredible institutions who have no idea what others are doing around the world. The connectivity of the Children’s Resource Exchange (CRE) will literally save the lives of millions of children. GCF has partnered with innovators at companies such as Microsoft, WebMd/Medscape Pediatrics and IneHealth/Idonia, and speaks to the outstanding vision and potential of the CRE. The concept of connecting all services necessary to assist medically fragile children worldwide is brilliant and thanks to GCF, this vision will come to fruition.
