Advisor, GCF’s Children’s Resource Exchange
Michael has been with Microsoft since August 2017, working as a Software Engineer in an internal central team working on data platforms and trying to allow better connected experiences in windows experience applications such as Photos and Paint3D. Before joining Microsoft, Michael was working for athenaHealth as a full-stack web developer for a an EHR web application which was used by large population health organizations to both support their care managers on an individual level as well as track metrics and health targets at a population level.
Working in healthcare IT, Michael realized how fulfilling it was to work on something that touched other people’s lives in such a directly positive way. After joining Microsoft, it was a natural step to look for volunteering opportunities and he came across a posting looking for help with GCF. After hearing the stories behind the foundation, the project, and the children it was and would be helping, it was an easy decision to join on.
