Molly Campbell Nave, J.D.

Court Commissioner at Spokane Municipal Court

After graduating from Gonzaga University’s School of Law in 1989, Molly Nave’s career took a turn toward the service of others.  She joined the Spokane County Public Defender’s Office, in Spokane, Washington. Her practice is primarily centered on helping disadvantaged and At Risk Youth and reuniting families who have been separated because of mental health problems, substance abuse and medical issues.

Molly is married to Kevin Nave, a former law enforcement officer for Spokane County. They are the parents of six children, three of whom are adopted from China. After years of working to help reunite families, and after the adoption of the Nave family’s third child from China who had unforeseen medical problems, Molly found her family unexpectedly stranded on two continents, separated by United States healthcare policy. Nancy Robertson, the Grace Children’s Foundation, and GCF’s Children’s Resource Exchange were instrumental in providing hope and critical assistance that resulted in the joyful reunification of Molly’s family.

As Molly worked with Nancy to coordinate myriad resources through the CRE mechanism, she recognized the compelling work that the GCF undertakes on a worldwide basis for those who are disadvantaged and at risk.  This work has graced Molly with the ability to use her talents outside her local community for the betterment of her global community.

“The work that Nancy Robertson and the Grace Children’s Foundation do on behalf of those that don’t have access to medical, educational and humanitarian resources is incredibly powerful. The ability to affect lives on a global scale is what Nancy is called to do, and I am honored and privileged to join her in this most important endeavor.”

Molly Nave has served as a Trustee for a number of organizations, including the Northwest Center for Congenital Heart Disease Beats and Rhythms, Gonzaga University Board of Regents, Gonzaga University Alumni Association Board (immediate past president), Gonzaga University Alumni Association Spokane Chapter Board (Current Vice President) and the Spokane County Sheriff Department’s Chaplain Board. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Washington Defender Association and is a past member of the Spokane County Bar Association and the Spokane County Guardian Ad Litem Program.Molly Nave is the 2013 Inaugural Recipient of the Chevrolet and Manic Mommy Hometown Hero Award.
