Providing governance leadership and legal stewardship for mission growth

Carolyn Spector is a dynamic attorney and organizational leader with extensive experience in litigation, nonprofit leadership and strategic governance.

She previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she handled criminal litigation including jury trials and complex motion practice.

In addition to her prosecutorial work, Carolyn served as a Visiting Professor at Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Criminal Justice where she taught graduate and undergraduate students in criminal law, criminal due process, trial advocacy, civil procedure and family violence. In recognition of her commitment to education and mentorship, she received the Robert A. Sheehan Excellence in Teaching Award for two consecutive years.

Carolyn has also served as Executive Director of several nonprofit organizations in New York City dedicated to providing life-saving and life-altering surgery to children in need both domestically and internationally. Through this work she developed a deep understanding of the logistical and systemic challenges families face when seeking specialized medical care.

She currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Grace Children’s Foundation where she provides governance leadership and legal counsel as the organization advances the Children’s Resource Exchange (CRE), an emerging digital platform designed to connect children in need with medical expertise and essential care resources worldwide.
